Terrific Tignes

Terrific Tignes

We visited Tignes in Feb 2019 when looking to set up Ski for Sadie. It was lovely to speak with Tignes this week about some collaboration on Ski France and future Ski for Sadie.

I had visited Tignes, for the first time, in 2018. On that occasion was also starting to look at options for ski events. Spent 2 days end of November; skiing with instructors in training and the watching the race teams on the glacier. An amazing location for pre season practice.

3 months later back in Tignes with Stephen, arriving to a heavy snowfall and whiteout on the first day. Rest of the week was clear and crisp. Explored the entire area along with neighbouring Val d’isere Incredible sense or travel in perfect ski conditions . A variety of skiing terrain with an efficient lift system. What we found whilst staying in Tignes was a sense of belonging. An open and welcoming atmosphere.

The train pulls in at Bourg-Saint-Maurice and to reach Tignes from there is quite straight forward. With flight options to Grenoble or Lyon being the best connecting bet. Tourist board (and link here) are extremely helpful in searching for accommodation. Lift passes can be purchased from machines outside many locations.

Fantastic and positive, thank you Tignes!
